Good luck for the common tests (sorry this sounds so MSNy) Dint really do much over e past few days (got new specs! =P and watched Red Cliff) Hope you guys are missing me, cause im missing you guys loads.
Saw the book the 2J people made for me, thank you guys a bunch bunch! =D Honestly im pretty bored here, no “long-term” internet. I had this post done beforehand. Just went on this “tour bus” around Beijing ytd, had to queue for like 2 hours!! My god this Olympic Games is more of a “game of ENDURANCE” than I thought! (which conveniently, I am losing at).
I will be going Canada on the 17th of August (and in case there are laggers out there, im currently in Beijing). Oh and yeah, I’ve made a video out of the pictures I’ve taken during my last few days, still finding a way to send it over (its about 65 MB, any bright ideas?). Hope you guys will read the stuff written below, especially the lower one, and comment. Hehe...THANK YOU!!
Reflection VS Refraction
I think there are two kinds of people in this world when facing problems: People who reflect, and people who refract. People who reflect hit the problem and bounce back, reflect upon their mistakes and make another attempt on the same problem. Also there will be those who refract. They change their course in the face of the problem and seek a new way out. Either that or they change the situation itself, but creating a new problem. Of course I’d love to mention those who’d simply crumple in the face of the problem, but uh...never mind. Here’s a typical example, me going to Canada! Haha. I had a different view of Singapore’s education system; I wish to obtain more from the Western one, so I decided to go to Canada. Refraction. Of course I think some people could have changed themselves and blend Western ideas into Singapore’s education (on themselves, not the system itself). These are people of Reflection. Of course this idea is too abstract for me (thats the whole point I dint choose this route, but I did try it). Sometimes reflection is harder than refraction, and sometimes otherwise. What kind of person do you think you are (most of the time)?
Oh and another thing I’ve noticed through trip to England with the SE (but I believe it can be in any single society, even 2J). I have been the victim of this too. Some members of the society brainwash others (esp the more junior group) by injecting ideas against a certain somebody (most of the time). When influenced, any action by that somebody might open a new and unnecessary wound. Any friendly gesture is an attack, any word becomes an insult. It saddens me. Everyone has his bad and good points. This is a statement so commonly known yet so ignored. It is only true that some people’s bad points are more obvious and infuriating than others. No one was born equal, after all. There is no right for one to dislike someone but influence other people too. At least, I think, we should give other people a chance to have an idea of that someone on their own. This brainwash is even more powerful than any virus. In fact, a virus connects people together when they work towards the common goal to destroy it, but brainwashing separates a group. I have ignored this problem; I have been influenced without realising it; I will not do it again, and I hope no one who has read this will.
P.S. Eh...May I know who gave me the book on Mental Chemistry before I left...? =D
P.S.S. Thank you Limin for that poem you wrote =D And stop betting on Seaweed Chicken =P
Cheers mates! I’m missing you guys loads (to the power of 10000), but I’m missing the future I long for even more...
